Not your average Apple Watch band
Cavallino leather is often referred to as haircalf, calf hair, or hair-on leather. It’s calf’s leather with the hair remaining on the hide.
Cavallino is harder to work with than regular leather, and is therefore more expensive. The hair is treated with bleach and dyed in different colors and patterns to create one-of-a-kind Apple Watch bands. This treatment also gives the hair its luxurious sheen.
Handmade in Italy
Meridio is a small assemblage of artisans who hand-make leather bands for Apple Watch in an ancient tannery in Tuscany. (The region’s capital, Florence, is particularly famous for its leather production.)
The company seeks to combine the practicality and innovation of the Apple Watch with the inherent quality of Italian leather manufacturing.
Meridio chooses only the highest-quality hides, which are then handmade into beautiful Apple Watch bands.
The Cavallino Leather Band comes in four variations: Stripey, Whitey Spotty, 101 Dalmatians, and Bengal Tiger.
Choose from six adapter and hardware finishes to complement your Apple Watch: gold, rose gold, black, space gray, stainless steel and silver.
Available only for 38 mm Apple Watch.
Each of Meridio’s straps is produced in compliance with international laws regarding animal protection and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
Price: $76 (regularly $109)
