Gorgeous Mujjo Sleeve keeps your MacBook covered and comfortable on the move [Review]

The delightful Mujjo Sleeve for MacBook is a great way to protect your precious notebook when you’re on the move. It’s beautifully made from quality materials, and it won’t weigh you down like a bulky bag.

The Sleeve ensures your notebook remains free from marks and scratches, no matter how much you carry it around. It also has space for some accessories, important documents, and more.

I’ve been using one to protect my 13-inch MacBook Pro for several months now. Here’s what I think of it.

Mujjo Sleeve for MacBook — review

Like all good notebook sleeves, Mujjo’s is designed to be slim and lightweight. It’s made mostly from soft felt, combined with a supple leather flap that helps prevent your MacBook from sliding out.

The Sleeve won’t replace your messenger bag on lengthy trips that require you to take most of your office with you, but it’s ideal for traveling to and from meetings, and for short stints in a coffee shop.

Simple, portable protection

Mujjo has nailed the fine balance between protection and portability. Its Sleeve is thick enough to ensure that almost anything on the outside of the case won’t damage your MacBook inside it, but not so thick that it makes your machine too bulky to cart around with ease.

The Sleeve might not protect your MacBook from a lengthy drop, then — you’ll want something much more substantial if you have a tendency to throw yours around — but it will prevent the scratches that commonly occur while a notebook is in transit.

Securing the case with the leather flap is quick and easy, thanks to a single snap button that’s surprisingly tough. And when you open it up, you’ll find room for more than just your MacBook.

All your essentials in one place

In addition to a large pocket for your laptop itself, the Sleeve has a second pocket for documents and peripherals, and some smaller slots for business and credit cards. You will easily fit things like a compact USB-C hub, AirPods, and a Magic Mouse into the case.

The Sleeve does have its limits, though. Its slimline design means a MacBook charging adapter is a tight fit, while larger mice will pose problems, too. Anything too thick will put pressure on your machine when the case is closed, potentially causing some expensive damage.

That’s why cases like the Sleeve are better to suited to those who find themselves spending a few hours — but not all day — out of the office on a regular basis.

You might choose to combine the Sleeve with a bigger bag or backpack, and that would work perfectly well given its size. But it seems a waste of great design and materials if you plan to hide it away inside another bag most of the time.

Great build quality

Like all of the Mujjo products we’ve tested before, the Sleeve is brilliantly put together. The materials are robust, the are pleasingly clean, and everything feels super-sturdy. Mine still looks brand-new, albeit a little dirty, after several months of use.

The Sleeve comes in two sizes — one for the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and another for the 15-inch MacBook Pro — and prices start at $78. Both are available now from the Cult of Mac Store.
