AirPods now fully compatible with MagSafe
It was already possible to charge AirPods with a MagSafe Charger (if you had a Wireless Charging Case or AirPods Pro) since it uses the same Qi charging technology found inside most wireless charging pads on the market today.
But earlier AirPods Charging Cases didn’t include the magical magnets that allowed them to be secured to MagSafe accessories like iPhone 12 and 13. Apple changed that with its most recent AirPods refreshes.
That means you no longer have to worry about AirPods being knocked off their charger, or having to place them down just right to ensure they charge at all. It also means they now work with other MagSafe accessories, like vertical mounts.
Best MagSafe accessories for AirPods
So, if you’re shopping for some great MagSafe accessories to use with your new AirPods, look no further. Here’s out roundup of the best available right now.
Elago MS Charging Pad
Elago’s MS Charging Pad is a silicone surround for your official MagSafe Charger that not only protects it, but also makes it significantly easier to take your AirPods (or iPhone) off the charger when they’ve finished topping up.
If you’ve already enjoyed MagSafe charging, you’ll know that its only downside is that it can be cumbersome to free the charger from your device once it’s been attached. The MS Charging Pad solves that problem.
It’s also available in a variety of great color options, and it’s super-affordable at just $12.99.

Elago Charging Tray Duo
Elago’s handy Charging Tray Duo is similar to the MS Charging Pad in that it fits around your official MagSafe Charger. But it’s a lot bigger, incorporating your Apple Watch charger as well, and providing a tray for other small accessories. It retails for $27.99.

Limited77 MagSafe Wood Charger
Do you find Apple’s own MagSafe Charger a little boring? Check out the MagSafe Wood Charger from Limited77 instead. It features a black cable that more easily blends into its surroundings — and a real wood surface.
Aside from the cosmetic differences, the Wood Charger functions in exactly the same way as an official MagSafe Charger. It delivers just as much power, and magnetically attaches to your devices. And at $28.77, it’s cheaper than Apple’s charger, too. Check out our full review for more.

SwitchEasy MagMount
Want to top up your AirPods in the car without losing them? Use the simple MagMount from SwitchEasy. It uses a silicone frame that holds your MagSafe Charger, combined with an aviation-grade alloy that’s incredibly robust.
The MagMount offers 360-degree rotation — handy for making your iPhone easy to see while you’re on the road — and is available in two designs: one that fixes to your windshield with adhesive, and another that slots into an air vent. It retails for $26.99.

Keep your AirPods charged up on the go with the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K. It packs a whopping 5,000mAh of juice, and because it uses MagSafe, it’ll securely hold onto your AirPods — even in the bottom of your bag.
The PowerCore Magnetic 5K, which retails for $54.99, is also compatible with iPhone, and it has a USB-C port that allows you to charge other devices — like an iPad, Nintendo Switch, and more — that don’t use wireless charging. It also comes in different colors.
