The Red Batik Apple Watch Strap is the fruit of a collaboration between Clessant and Apple Watch Center's Ryan Verbeek, an Indonesian designer living in the Netherlands. The band is a beautiful blend of ancient Indonesian art, batik, and French leather-making.
Batik fabric is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing, made either by drawing dots and lines with wax and subsequently selectively dyeing the cloth. This allows the artisan to control the dyeing to give it a unique handprinted aspect by soaking the cloth in one color, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating to complete the pattern. Batik fabric wrapped around calf-leather core.
Comes with either the Inox or Black PVD Clessant Buckle (+$5.00 and comes with Space Gray or Space Black choices of adapters).
Available in 38 mm and 42 mm Apple Watch sizes.

French company, Clessant, is making a big impression in the world of luxury accessories. Recently featured in Vogue (and, Cult of Mac!), Clessant takes its band-making to detailed levels: The craftsmanship of a Clessant strap is a specific and complicated process, with more than 60 different steps to completion. Located in Chapareillan, the small company is young as are its founders, William Laurent and Nicolas Perot, entrepreneurs who share a common passion for luxury accessories. Designed for “people who wear what they love,” each artisan-made strap is as beautiful as it is practical.
